Mit dem nächsten Creative Technologies Meetup bleiben wir bei theHOST.is und beim Thema Anything to Declare? Thinking outside the Border. Die HOST.is Residenzkünstler*innen und ein Hamburger Künstler geben dafür Einblick in ihre aktuelle Arbeit in Hamburg.
Jazmin Morris Projekt „Don‘t touch my hardware” erkundet Grenzen zwischen Software, Hardware und dem Körper und spekuliert, wie Hardware unsere Beziehung zu moderner Technologie verbessern kann.
Als Antwort auf sich in Mexiko-Stadt verbreitende, in monopolistischer Hand befindliche Convenience-Stores entwickelt Pablo Somonte Ruano ein spekulatives Alternativmodell: POCAS (POCAS Organización Cooperativa de Auto-Servicio). Das fiktive Unternehmen überwindet die kapitalistisch-neoliberale Struktur der Convenience-Stores und wendet dabei Prinzipien an wie Commons, Agorismus, Plattform-Kooperativismus und Kybernetik.
Liva Dudareva untersucht mit ihrem Projekt die Verflechtungen zwischen der Entstehung der Ökosystem-Ökologie, also die systemische Betrachtung der Beziehung zwischen lebenden und nicht lebenden Wesen, und den zwischen 1945 und 1992 in den USA durchgeführten Atomwaffentests.
Aus Hamburg ist der Künstler, Kurator, Fotograf und DIY-Bootsbauer Claudius Schulze dabei: In seiner Arbeit untersucht auch er anthropozentrische Phänomene und geht dabei mit verschiedenen avancierten technischen Mitteln auf eine akribische Untersuchung von Transformationen von Lebewesen und ihren Lebensräumen. Kürzlich hat er in Hamburg das ClimateArtFe.st umgesetzt.

Like last time, for this meetup, we’re sticking with the program of „theHOST.is“ and the topic of Anything to Declare? Thinking outside the Border. The resident artists of the program and an artist from Hamburg will give an insight into their current work on different aspects of borders and boundaries:
Jazmin Morris ‚ project „Don’t touch my hardware“ explores boundaries between software, hardware and the body, speculating on how hardware can enhance our relationship with modern technology.
In response to proliferating monopolistically owned convenience stores in Mexico City, Pablo Somonte Ruano develops a speculative alternative model: POCAS (POCAS Organización Cooperativa de Auto-Servicio). The fictional company overcomes the capitalist-neoliberal structure of convenience stores, applying principles such as commons, agorism, platform cooperativism, and cybernetics.
Liva Dudareva’s project explores the interconnections between the emergence of ecosystem ecology, the systemic consideration of the relationship between living and non-living beings, and the nuclear weapons tests conducted in the United States between 1945 and 1992.
Joining us from Hamburg is artist, curator, photographer, and DIY boat builder Claudius Schulze: in his work, he too explores anthropocentric phenomena, using a variety of advanced technical means to meticulously investigate transformations of living beings and their habitats. Recently, he has implemented ClimateArtFe.st in Hamburg.
